Pond Maintenance
Koi ponds and water features can sometimes be more of a challenge than aquariums due to their exposure to the elements. Wind, rain, debris, and even predators can turn your well-established system upside down, but we can help! Our service techs will treat your outdoor features with the same care and attention that we show our personal aquariums! Pond and water feature care includes:
- Scrubbing of hard surfaces (wall, tile, etc.)
- Netting and removal of debris
- Filter cleaning
- Backflushes (depending on filtration)
- Parameter testing and adjustment
- Livestock inspection
- Top off
- Delivery of livestock and aquatic plants
We also recommend a yearly deep clean on larger systems with pressure washing, equipment cleanings and repairs/replacements if needed.
Water Features
Water features like fountains, waterfalls, and streams can be a bit easier to care for due to the lack of livestock, but they can come with their own challenges. Algae, debris from trees or landscaping, or other objects blown in by storms can harm your equipment and cause failures. Routine maintenance is often all that is needed to ensure your water feature operates properly for many years to come. Water feature maintenance includes:
- Scrubbing of hard surfaces (wall, tile, etc.)
- Netting and removal of debris
- Filter cleaning
- Backflushes (depending on filtration)
- Parameter testing and adjustment
- Top off

Deep Cleanings
Eventually most ponds and water features will need to be deep cleaned to some degree. A deep clean can help to restore your outdoor oasis to its finest form. Extra care is taken with livestock in these situations. No chemicals are used during this process so as not to harm livestock, plants, or equipment. Deep cleans include:
- Draining of feature
- Removing livestock and plants
- Pressure Washing
- Removing all debris
- Filtration and Equipment Cleaning
- Backflushes (depending on filtration)
- Livestock inspection
- Refilling with treated freshwater
- Reacclimating of Livestock
Don't worry about your livestock! During the deep cleaning process, they are removed and kept inside large holding containers with covers and proper aeration.
